I’m currently doing research for my own DW in 2011 and this book is absolutely the best one I’ve found on the subject so far. It’s detailed, budget-mindful and all-around very practical for a do-it-yourself type of bride/groom. There were great diagrams, check lists, step-by-step instructions, useful websites…etc. This book even has a contact list for major airlines and a guide to online wedding shorthand in the front! It covers all kinds of destinations, too; Europe, the tropics, ski resorts, even theme parks and sports arenas! The best part for me, though, was the entire chapter devoted to cruise ship weddings. My fiance and I have been toying with the idea of getting married on a cruise for a few months now and, I have to say, the information is all there. The author even gives you the lowdown on individual cruise lines (plus their contact info)! No other book that I’ve found has been anywhere NEAR this detailed about my preferred destination. Really, I was very, very impressed. An excellent buy for any couple considering the pros and cons of a DW.

If you’re planning a destination wedding, you’ll want to read this book first. It covers everything you would want to know about planning a wedding away from home. Lots of tips and advice starting with whether a destination wedding is right for you and going on to cover organizing and budgeting, finding the right destination, making your travel arrangments, and, of course, the wedding ceremony. There’s a chapter on emergencies you may face and how to handle them, as well as ways to save money on a destination wedding.
